Yep, getting another one going. Though this one is about Star's past. Chapter 1:Chloe wandered the lonely hallways of the palace. She missed her brother Cole. He had been gone for two years now, and she didn't know why he had left her. He had always been there for her, always watched over her and kept her safe. Her mother had been gone for two years as well. She just didn't understand it. She neared the throne room where her father sat. He's been king and ruler of Razon for as long as she could remember, and he had often told her she would always be his little princess no matter if they were royalty or not. Chloe reached the main doors into he throne room and stopped in front of two of the dragon guardians. They both were tall. Four feet taller than her own three an a half foot tall body. One was covered in red scales, the other in blue. "Good morning Chloe," the red one greeted her. "Good morning Blaze," she answered back. "Morning Freeze." The blue one smiled and nodded his greetings. The two dragons stepped aside as the large doors swung open. Chloe skipped through the doorway and up to her father. "Good morning sweetie," her father spoke up. She smiled. "Morning father." He patted his lap. "Come up and give me a hug." Chloe climbed up on her father's lap and gave him a tight hug, getting a squeeze back. "Where's mama and Cole?" she asked after they pulled apart. He sighed. Her question came every once and awhile, but he still gave her the same answer. "They're on a journey and might not be back for some time." She sighed missing the rest of of her family more and more each day. Her father hugged her again. "Why don't you go get ready for breakfast and I'll join you in a little bit?" "Ok," Chloe answered a little sadly. She got down and wandered the hallways to her room. She opened her dresser drawer to find her hair ribbon that would match her flowery dress. She frowned. If she had it her way, she wouldn't wear a dress. She began glowing blue as she faced the long mirror putting in her bow. Her eyes widened before she crumpled to the floor. She held her arms tightly as her body began to ache. Her tail twitched back and forth as she scrunched up more. "Wait! I'm not supposed to have a tail!!" she exclaimed. She stood up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was no longer wearing her pink dress with the little ribbon in her silky black hair. Her whole body was covered with green scales, except for the tip of her tail which was covered with read and blue scales. She screamed at the top of her lungs. Her father and the two dragons rushed into her room. "Sweetie, what's wrong?" her father asked before halting in his tracks with wide eyes. Chloe cried slightly. "What's happening?" Her father's eyes hardened and his face scrunched in anger. "Your changing just like your mother and brother." "But I thought you said they left on a journey?" she asked. "They did. But they're not coming back. Take her out of my sight." He stormed out of the room. To be continued...

Chapter 2:
Chloe quietly followed Blaze and Freeze through the alleyways to a tall round building. Why was her father mad at her? And why wasn't her mother and Cole coming back?
She followed them into the building and entered a room filled with a dozen large dragons. Some were large with stripes of different colors, others were solid colors, but most of them had a scar somewhere on their bodies.
"Hello Chloe," the largest one said gently.
"Hello," she answered politely, but afraid.
"You have nothing to be afraid of. You are safe here. Blaze, bring her to her mother then you, Freeze, and the council will talk."
Blaze nodded and taking her hand, led Chloe through long hallways to a large back room where a tall purple dragon who was working on something at a desk. "Oh Chloe," she said turning around and hugging her.
She hugged the large dragon tightly, needing someone to hug before all the tears spilled out.
Blaze slipped out of the room as they let go of each other.
"Mama?" Chloe asked through her tears.
"Yes baby. It's me." Her mother transformed to human from, with green eyes and long silky hair. She wore a dark purple long sleeve shirt with blue jeans. She hugged her daughter again. "I knew this day would come soon."
"Why?" Chloe asked in a barely audible voice.
"Shh..." her mother soothed. "I have someone you need to meet."
Chloe let go of her mother and wiped her tears as a big blue dragon came closer. He too reverted back to human form. His eyes were just as green as her mother's, and his brown hair was ruffled, but familiar. His dark black shirt came down just over his blue jeans with a red stripe that ran down the sides. "Cole?"
He nodded and embraced her. "It is good to see you again."
"But father said you weren't coming back yet." Chloe let go of her brother.
"He was trying to make it easier on you sweetie," her mother spoke up. "The only way dragons are allowed in the palace is if they're on duty."
Chloe frowned in confusion.
"Her mother sat on one of the small couches in the room and patted the cushion.
She sat down by her mother as Cole took a seat on the rocking chair.
"I was born into a dragon family," her mother explained. "But your father never knew that before we married. When he found out your brother and I were half dragon he sent us here."
"Why?" she asked still not understanding.
"Because dragons aren't suppose to be a part of the royal family."
Chloe was on the verge of tears again.
Her mother wrapped her in another hug as the door to the room opened. Blaze stood awkwardly in the doorway.
"Come in," her mother said still holding Chloe.
"StarLight, the council is ready."
Her mother nodded and stood up, taking Chloe's hand as she changed back to her dragon form. Her brother changed back and followed behind them as they followed Blaze. TTC...

Chapter 3:
Chloe stood quietly next to her mother in the same room she had come in the first time. She trembled slightly while they talked. Looking at her scaly hand, she didn't know if she liked being a dragon or not.
"Chloe?"
She quickly looked up at the large ice blue dragon after hearing her name.
"I know this is a lot to take in right now sweetie," the leader of council began. "But there are somethings you must understand."
She nodded.
"You will be put through the training course to become one of the guardians. And for security reasons, you must not show your human form to anyone except your family. Though you may still walk around in your human form as long as you are careful not to show those outside of your family your transformations."
Chloe sighed, but nodded. This was going to be hard, but if it was something she had to do, she would be the best at it.
The ice blue dragon went on. "Chloe is your name, but because of the situation, to keep you safe, you will have another name to go by when you are in dragon form."
"Whatever it is, it's your choice sweetie," her mother spoke up.
Chloe looked down at the brick floor beneath her feet. She heard Blaze call her mother StarLight, but she didn't know her brother's name. Maybe she could figure out something if she knew his. "What's Cole's name?" she asked looking up to her mother.
"DarkMoon," StarLight answered.
She thought hard. This name was going to stick with her for her whole life. It had to be unique, but somewhat like the other dragons around her. Her eyes lit up, an idea of the perfect name popping up. "FireStar."
"Are you sure?" the leading dragon asked.
"Yes." She nodded to make her point.
"Very well. FireStar it is."
"Nice name sis," DarkMoon stated squeezing her shoulder.
StarLight bowed to the council and took Chloe's hand.
She followed her mother out of the room, happier that she was with her mother and brother again.
---
She collapsed on the couch of her mother's large room, and watched as DarkMoon plopped down on the rocking chair. "This is going to get tough, but I know you can do it."
StarLight sat down next to her. "You will do well my little star."
FireStar giggled. "Is that going to be my nickname?"
Her mother smiled. "Sure."
"What's your nickname?" she asked her brother.
"Moon." He started to rock back and forth in the chair, using his tail to rock himself.
Star smiled. "I like it."
"You'll have training almost everyday," Moon informed.
"It won't be easy at first," StarLight warned.
"That's ok," Star replied. "I'm going to be the best I can, no matter what daddy thinks."
Her mother hugged her. "That's good honey."

Chapter 4:
Seven years later…
She sat up in one of the trees of the training yards, watching every single movement of her opponent. Today was the last day of training. If she passed this fight, she would graduate tonight.
Her opponent was a dark yellow dragon about a foot taller than her own 4’2”. He snuck about the trees, looking up at the branches of each one, coming closer to the one she was in.
Without a second thought, Star jumped out of the tree, tucked her wings against herself, and landed on the yellow dragon, pinning him to the ground.
Meteor growled beneath her, flipping them over in an instant.
Star glared at him, growling deep in her throat. She wouldn’t let him win.
He grinned down at her. “Having fun my little Star?”
She glared harder. It was just like him to get all sweet when he had her pinned to the ground. But she wouldn’t fall for it. They guy disgusted her. She wiggled her tail up and tapped him on the shoulder.
“That’s not going to work,” he muttered.
Star smirked. “It will do just fine.” She wrapped her tail around one of his arms and pulled. Her right arm free, she punched him in the jaw.
He shook his head in surprise.
She grabbed his left arm and quickly bit into it.
He squirmed and yelped.
Star kicked Meteor off her and scrambled to her feet, claws ready.
He shook his arm, glaring at her. “You’re feisty.”
“Not as much as I used to be.”
“Oh I wouldn’t say that.” He smirked lunging for her feet.
She jumped and spread her wings, taking flight as he grabbed her ankles. “You want to go for a ride? Then hold tight.” Star flew high above the trees, then dipping downwards, flung her opponent into one of the thickest trees. She hovered in the air watched him scramble to his feet.
He flew up to hover in font of her. “Resourceful. Very resourceful.”
“I try.” She smirked and blew a fireball into her hand, tossing it up and down. “You always have been slow.”
Meteor smirked. “Oh have I?”
Star flung the fireball right for his face.
He ducked down, letting it sail over him, and sneered. “That isn’t a fireball.” He blew a large ball of fire in his hand. “This is a fireball.”
She had expected as much. As the oldest dragon in the training facility, he was one of the best, and at the end of this fight one of them would graduate. The other would be put through yet another year of grueling training.
He flung it at her.
Star flew up higher to get out of the fireball’s way. She winced, feeling the heat of the fire as it lapped at the tip of her tail. She squeezed her eyes shut to block out the pain of the sudden heat. No way was she going to let him win easily. Or at all. She had trained too hard to loose now. She reopened her eyes with renewed determination and dived down head on towards Meteor.
His eyeridge raised as he started to fly upwards.
Star closed her wings against her body and came down faster, barreling down on Meteor, slamming him into the ground. She got to her feet and stood just a foot away from where his head lay.
He groaned and flipped over. “You know what I like about you?” He stood up with a smirk. “You’re soft. I was lucky to get paired with you.” He pounced on her and dug his claws into her chest.
Star bit her tongue to keep from yelling out in pain. She grabbed his wrists, jerked his claws out of her and flipped him over. Her claws out, she dug into the side of his neck, then rammed her head against his.
Meteor’s body fell limp beneath her.
“How’s that for soft?” She got off him, rubbed her head, and looked up to see the dragon council approaching.
“Well done FireStar. You have passed,” one of them said.
She bowed. “Thank you.”
“We will see you both tonight for your training graduation,” the leader said.
Star nodded, happiness bubbling up inside her. She was finally finished with training. No more grueling training days or strict instructors. It was a day she dreamed of many times.
Two dragons came up to them and picked Meteor up and carried him away.
The council left her.
She wiped the bit of blood from her chest and started across the training yard to go back to her room to get ready for the party.
“Well done Star.” DarkMoon came up beside her.
She smiled up at him. “I thought you were still working.”
“I’d never miss your graduation.”
True. He said he wouldn’t miss it, and he always kept his word.
Moon’s arm draped around her shoulders, giving a squeeze. “I’ll see you at the celebration.”
She nodded and opened the door to her room.
Her brother let go and winked, then disappeared down the hallway of the building they had just entered.
She smiled. Turning into a dragon was now suddenly worth it. Moon was always watching out for her. She didn’t miss the old days one bit. TBC...

Chapter 5: Star entered the center part of the large garden out behind the buildings. The hedges bloomed with flowers and trees swayed in the breeze. It was peaceful. Just right for the party about to take place. The whole dragon community was starting to gather just for the occasion. There weren’t many training graduates, but when there was, everyone turned up to celebrate.
“Congratulations,” her mother said and hugged her.
“Are you sure you’re feeling ok?” she asked concerned.
StarLight smiled. “I wouldn’t miss this for anything. My leg will just have to endure standing for awhile.” She winked and left her to greet others.
She worried about her mom being here. It hadn’t been that long since her mother came back with a broken leg. The war that sparked last year had many of the dragons away, fighting to protect the royal family. Her father who had remarried, who she hadn’t seen since the day this all began, sat in his palace watching the war and how it hurt her and her family. It sickened her.
“You’re not as soft as I thought.”
Star spun around, face to face with Meteor. She smirked. “I’ll take that as a complement.”
“As well you should.”
A gong sounded at the very center of the garden and everyone became quiet.
“If FireStar and Meteor will step forward, we will get started,” the leader of the council announced.
She frowned, but made her way up to the front. Why did Meteor have to come up too?
The leader smiled. “Congratulations. You both have passed your training.”
Her eyes widened.
“I did?” Meteor asked.
“The test was not about winning,” one of the council said.
“It was about skill in battle,” another said.
“Then why have I had to go through another year of training every time I lost?” Meteor demanded.
“You were not yet ready,” the leader answered. “As a token of your graduation, these are yours to keep.”
One of the council members slipped a crystal necklace over her head, then one on Meteor.
“These crystals contain much power and will now bond with you,” the leader said. “You two will learn as time permits it to be understood.”
A roar went up among the other dragons, all of them clapping.
When the noise died down, the leader continued on. “You two will be partners, paired with an instructor, who will stay with you for two years. Unless something happens otherwise.”
Star looked at Meteor, then back at the council. He was joking, right? She could barely stand the dragon next to her, much less for the next two years. But no alternative was made and the party continued. She seemed to be in an unexpected shock until the party was over and she was able to collapse on the bed in her room.
Her eyes had just drifted closed when there was a banging on her door. The clock told her it had been more than just a couple of minutes since she had laid down.
The door burst open and Blaze stepped inside. “You must leave immediately!” TBC...

Chapter 6
Star bolted up in bed. “But why? What’s going on?”
Blaze came into the room and started to pack a small bag. “There isn’t time to explain.”
She jumped off the bed and joined Blaze, hands on her hips. “Make time.”
Blaze looked at her, then continued packing the bag. “There’s a bounty hunter loose.”
Star frowned. That didn’t clear up much and she was getting a sickening feeling in the pit of her stomach.
Blaze looked up at her with a grieving expression. “He got to your mother first.”
The room started spinning. Star sat back down on her bed. A mix of thoughts entered her mind, going faster than she could dwell on any one of them. “And the others?” she asked finally finding her voice.
“It seems he’s only after your family.”
“Moon?”
“On his way out.” Blaze shoved the bag into her hands. “Now go. He’ll meet up with you soon.”
“Alright.” Star took one last look around the room. “Thank you. For everything.”
Blaze hugged her. “Be safe.”
The door banged open.
Star jumped and spun around.
A dark purple tiger stood in the doorway, a kama spinning in his hand. “Hello Star. Or should I say Chloe?”
“Who are you?”
The tiger smirked. “Just your worst nightmare.”
Star growled and blew a fireball into her hand and hurled it at the intruder.
He sidestepped quickly. “That’s not going to help you girly.”
She eyed the tiger, debating on what to do next. Rage started to build inside her. He was the one who killed her mother. She knew it without a doubt. He would be sorry for what he did. No matter what.
Blaze jumped forward and tackled the tiger to the ground. “Star go!”
She stood frozen where she was, glaring at the tiger. She couldn’t leave yet. If this bounty hunter wanted a piece of her, he would get more than he bargained for.
“What are you waiting for?” a voice from the window asked.
Star spun around, glaring at the yellow dragon hovering outside.
He grabbed her arm and pulled her outside.
Star opened her wings to hover beside him and whacked him with her small bag. “I don’t need your help Meteor.”
“Ow...” He rubbed the side of his face. “What do you got in there? Rocks?” He tugged her down the alley behind the apartments.
Star jerked herself free from him. “I can fly on my own thank you.”
“Oh so you want to get killed by that bounty hunter?”
“I can handle myself.”
“Fine.” Meteor turned his back to her. “I don’t know why I risked my neck to help you.”
Star started to say something, but a heavy weight fell on her and she plummeted to the ground, smacking her head on the cement. Her vision darkened before she could get up. TBC...

Chapter 7
Her head ached and she was still tired, but Star forced herself to open her eyes. Trees surrounded her, tall and thick, blocking out most of the expanse of the sky. She slowly sat up and spied Meteor poking at a wood fire. He had a few scratches, but otherwise looked fine.
“Took you long enough to wake up.”
She growled at him.
“Kidding.” He poked the fire once more. “You feel ok?”
Star brought her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs. “Fine I guess.”
Meteor only stared at the fire. She never liked it when people froze her out like that, but the look on his face. It gave her the chills. Something was wrong. Even for him.
“The bounty hunter tried to inject you with something.”
Star stared at him.
“I tried to stop him, but he might have given you a little bit of something.”
“How do you know you didn’t stop him in time?”
He pointed at her.
She raised an eyeridge not understanding.
“Look at your scales.”
She slowly looked down and nearly screamed. She was blue! In all her days as a dragon, she had never been any color except green.
“It’s because of the crystal.” Moon emerged from the trees.
Star stood up and hugged him. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah.” He let her go and sat down by the fire. “There’s a second one loose.”
“Great, just what we needed. Two bounty hunters,” Meteor grumbled.
Star joined the boys by the fire, sitting next to her brother. “What were you saying about the crystal?”
“The crystal has already bonded with you,” Moon explained. “If anything is injected into your bloodstream, the crystal will try to get rid of it. And to do that it might cause your scales to change color. The liquid inside the crystal can cure most injections, but never drink all of it or it won’t replenish itself.”
“Does something bad happen if we do?” Meteor asked.
“It depends on what you have in your bloodstream,” Moon answered.
Star stared at the fire letting all this soak in, wondering if she was in any danger from what the hunter gave her. This whole day was crazy. She didn’t know whether to feel upset about loosing her mother, or angry enough to go after the hunter responsible for killing her.
A bush rattled from behind.
“Did you...” she started to say.
“Star, get down!” Moon tackled her. Tbc...

Chapter 8
Arrows flew threw the air, one of them landing next to her head. The arrows seemed to soar threw the air for hours. Each one landing closer and closer to her. Then suddenly it was quiet. Moon got off her. Star got to her feet and looked around. She saw no one else. Meteor stood in front of them where the bushes had rattled.
“You, I don’t need.” A wolf jumped out of the bushes and threw Meteor into a tree.
The tiger hunter stepped out beside him. “You two aren’t going anywhere.”
Star glared at the hunters, growling and about ready to pounce on them if they got close enough.
The wolf started shooting more arrows.
She quickly dove out of the way and saw her brother lunge for the hunter. The other one was out of sight. Star quickly turned looking around the clearing and into the trees. Her vision doubled then returned to normal after she shook her head. Hands grabbed at her feet. She gasped and looked down at the tiger.
“Hello beautiful.” He grinned. “You and your brother. You’re worth big money.” He pulled her feet out from under her, letting her land with a thud. He put a knee on her back and grabbed her wrists, jerking them behind her.
She pulled, but couldn’t break loose. Thinking quickly, she wrapped her tail around him and pulled as hard as she could. The tiger was off her in an instant. She rolled over and jumped to her feet. The tiger was fighting Meteor. Star was relieved. No wonder it was so easy to pull the hunter off her. She blew a fireball into her hand and hurled it at the tiger as hard as she could.
He deflected it with his kama and lurched forward kicking her into a tree.
She groaned and rubbed her head.
Meteor tackled the hunter, tumbling over the ground and shooting fire. The two stopped rolling, Meteor pinned underneath the tiger. The hunter threw his kama down and got up slowly.
Star stood up on shaky legs, staring at Meteor. He didn’t move and the hunter turned to her. She growled and flew up into the air.
The tiger jumped up to grab her.
She reached out and caught him, then threw him into a tree. He didn’t move, so she landed and joined her brother. The wolf lay unconscious next to the bushes.
Moon turned and headed into the woods. “Let’s go.”
Star followed her brother, but took one last look at Meteor.
Her brother’s hand settled on her shoulder. “He’s gone.”
That could have been her, but Meteor helped her and lost his own life. Tbc...

Chapter 9
Star continued walking, half numb to what just happened. She never thought she would be hunted down. She may not have liked Meteor that much, but he cared enough about her to protect her. Something she didn’t understand about the guy. He never liked her either as far as she knew. But his actions said different.
Her brother stopped and turned to her. He took her necklace and unscrewed half the crystal. “Drink some of this.”
She looked at it for awhile, then finally took it and drank some.
Moon held out a small vile to her.
She put her necklace back together and stared at it. “What’s that?”
“Stuff to get rid of the rest of the injection.”
Star took it. “How do you know what the bounty hunter gave me?”
“I got it out of his friend.” He touched her arm. “We need to get to a safe place, but I want you well.”
She nodded and drank what he gave her. She winced and shuddered as it slid down her throat, then handed the vile back.
He slightly smiled. “It should help.” Moon put the vile back in his pouch. “Ready?”
“I guess so.”
Moon’s eyes widened then rolled to the back of his head.
Star gasped and watched her brother fall to the ground. Hands grabbed her wrists and jerked them behind her. She struggled, but stopped as soon as the tiger slipped in front of her.
He pointed his weapon at DarkMoon. “Stop struggling or your brother’s mincemeat.”
Star stood frozen where she was. Rope wrapped around her wrists. She could break most rope if it was thin enough, but didn’t dare risk it for fear of loosing her brother. Chains were tied around her, binding her wings. She had no doubt about who was behind her.
The wolf shoved her in the back. “Let’s go.”
The tiger grunted, picked up her brother, and headed off deeper into the woods.
Star had no choice, but to follow. She stared at Moon, hoping he would wake up, but he didn’t move a bit. Tbc...

Chapter 10
Star stood in the center of the large palace garden. Her brother was now bound just as she was, but not awake yet, laying next to her feet. The two bounty hunters stood at the only exit, glaring at her as if there was nothing better to do with their time.
Her father stepped through the entrance, standing next to the hunters. “I see your mission was a success.”
“Yes Fang. And quite thrilling as well.”
Fang chuckled. “You will get your reward. Stick around for awhile though. I may need you two again.”
“Very well,” the hunters said in unison.
Fang strode up to her and looked at her, slightly smirking. “Well, you’ve certainly grown.”
“What do you want?” Star growled.
“Why Chloe, I’m hurt. Don’t you want to see your father again?”
“Not like this.”
Moon groaned and sat up.
“Well hello there.” Fang looked down at her brother.
Moon glared and said nothing.
“Why are we here?” Star asked.
Fang turned back to her. “I cannot have dragons in my family. Or you two running all over the planet. Reminders of the mistake I made years ago.”
Moon stood up. “So you’re going to do to us what you did to Mom.”
“No. I’m not going to.” Fang lifted his arm and pointed at the hunters. “They are.” He rejoined the two at the entrance. “Finish them.”
Star glared at Fang, who still stood at the entrance watching, as the hunters advanced closer. She struggled and pulled at her bonds, but only managed to pull her wrists from the rope. The chains remained in tact, chaffing the side of her arms.
“Do you trust me?”
She looked over at Moon. He had snapped his rope too. “Yes...”
“Hold still.”
She glanced at the hunters just a couple of feet away. With a quick deep breath, she stood as still as she could.
Moon shot a stream of fire at her.
Star closed her eyes tightly, waiting to feel the heat of his fireblast.
“Hey look. They’re finishing themselves off,” the wolf mocked.
The chains around her became hot and broke, dropping to the ground at her feet.
Moon stopped shooting fire and smirked.
Star flexed her arms, grateful to be free. Her wings opened and stretched to get the numbness out.
“You just can’t stay still, can you?” the tiger taunted.
“That won’t help you though,” a voice whispered in her ear.
A fist punched her in the back. She spun around and kicked the wolf in the stomach, seeing to it that he fell face down on the ground.
“Not another move. Or this time I really will get rid of your brother.”
Star turned back to Moon and glared at the tiger, who held a kama next to her brother’s throat. Tbc...

Chapter 11
Star stared at her brother and the kama next to his throat. If she acted Moon would be killed. If she didn’t, he would still be killed. There was no way to save him. No way to undo the mess that had come upon them. Her shoulders shrugged at the thought of not knowing what to do.
Moon winked at her.
She barely raised an eyeridge, not wanting to alert the tiger, but very much confused. Why would he wink at a time like this? Unless... She smiled thinking she knew what her brother was thinking.
Hands clamped down on her shoulders. “What are you smiling at girly?”
“Your downfall.”
Moon’s tail wrapped around the tiger’s waist, jerked him off his feet, and flung him through the air.
The instant Moon was clear of the kama, Star blew a stream of fire at her brother, letting the heat break the chains. They fell to the ground with a clang. Her brother free, she whipped around and kicked the bounty hunter behind her.
He stumbled backwards, but righted himself and lunged for her, hands outstretched and claws gleaming in the moonlight.
Star flew up out of his reach and blowing a large fireball in her hand, hurled it at him as hard as she could.
He jumped out of the way, muttering something too quiet to hear.
She dived down and scooped him up, flying high up into the sky so Moon and the other hunter now looked like ants.
“Put me down!”
“You scared of heights?” Star taunted.
He didn’t answer.
“So you can ambush a girl, but you can’t take it being up this high in the sky?” She closed her wings against her body and dived down head first.
“Are you crazy?! You’ll kill us both!” He struggled against her grip and bit into her hand.
Star winced and he fell from her grasp. Letting her wings open, she hovered in the air and rubbed her hand where she was bitten.
The wolf landed with a thud on the ground, scurrying to get up.
Star growled at him and dove down again landing on him with a thud and digging her claws into him. “No one ambushes me and my brother and gets away with it!”
The wolf went limp beneath her.
“Oh no one huh?”
Star stood and spun around, face to face with the tiger.
The hunter jerked a thumb at Moon.
Her brother lay on the ground glaring up at Fang.
“Now you’re going to be the one to finish off your sister,” Fang sneered at Moon. Tbc...

Chapter 12
Star couldn’t believe her ears. Fang must be crazy. There was no way Moon would attack or even hurt her. There was absolutely no way. Her wings were jerked back and a sickening crack reached her ears. She fell to her knees, gritting her teeth against the pain, letting her arms wrap around herself and her wings fold up against her body as painlessly as possible.
“No!” Moon shouted staring at her, fear deep in his eyes.
Fang quickly dropped a large oval crystal around Moon’s neck and moved away.
Moon quickly jumped up to his feet and raced to her side, wrapping his arms around her. “It’s going to be alright.”
“What is that crystal?” she asked trying her best to shut out the pain.
“Nightmare number two.” The tiger walked around them carrying the wolf. He nodded to Fang and disappeared through the garden’s exit.
Moon looked down at the crystal and reached to yank it off. Something stopped him. His arms fell away from her and his eyes grew wide.
“Moon?” Star asked forgetting about most of her pain. Her mind only on her brother and his sudden strange behavior.
He didn’t answer.
“Cole?” she tried again using his human name.
He crumpled to the ground, arms gripped around his body. An anguished cry ripped from his throat like a howl piercing through the silent night, chilling the blood of anyone who heard it.
Star reached out to touch him, but her hand was slapped instead. She instantly recoiled and scooted away in fear. He had never once had reason or want to strike at her. Why now?
Moon’s body suddenly doubled in size and his scales slowly turned black. He no longer stood as she normally would, but on all fours, glaring at her as if he didn’t know her.
Star shivered in fear, looking up at him. She stood up, spread her wings, and tried to fly away, but shooting pain soared through her wings, reminding her of the tiger who had broken them. She instantly recoiled, falling to her knees once again and carefully folding her wings back up. The pain was starting to become unbearable, but not as unbearable as the look in her brother’s eyes.
Moon came closer and picked Star up by her tail, letting her dangle upside down. “Goodbye, little sister.” Tbc...

Chapter 13
Star’s mouth hung open. How could her own brother attack her? “Don’t do this Cole.”
“I have to.” He threw her to the far end of the garden.
She groaned upon impact with the metal fence and lay crumpled on the ground.
Moon glared at her, slowly coming closer.
Star felt too weak to get up and really didn’t want to. There was no way she could fight her brother. He was too strong. Every bit of what she had learned over the past seven years eluded her.
He picked her up by her foot, breathing directly in her face.
“Star, you have to fight back!”
She twisted her body to the voice on the other side of the fence.
Blaze stood there, hands on the tall metal fence covered with plant vines. “He’s not your brother. Not like this.”
Moon spun her around, smirked at her, and dug his claw into her chest.
Star cried out in pain, grasping Moon’s hand, trying to pull it out with many failed attempts. After many agonizing seconds, she managed to pull it out. Her necklace caught on Moon’s nail, ripping it off her neck. Instantly her scales turned black and her body tripled in size. Her wings straightened out, snapping back into alignment. Her ears laid back and she growled at the dragon in front of her.
Moon had been forced to let go and now stood a couple feet away. He glared and quickly sent a stream of fire in her direction.
Star blew her own stream of fire, snuffing out Moon’s blaze and sending him into one of the trees, watching branches fall down on top of him.
“The crystal!” Blaze yelled. “Get the crystal off him.”
She arched her back and walked towards Moon on all fours.
He jumped out from under the broken wood and tackled her, wrestling and rolling over the ground.
She ducked her head out of the way to keep from getting bitten and reached for the round crystal, jerking it off him and watching as he reverted back to his normal form.
He stood there looking at her, all malice gone from his eyes, then down at her necklace still in his hand. Moon didn’t say anything for quite some time, just stared at her crystal necklace, refusing to meet her eyes.
She was relieved to see her brother normal again and would have hugged him if she had been her normal size.
Moon finally looked up and flew up to her. A tear in his eye, he put her necklace back around her neck.
She felt herself shrinking and watched her scales turn back to green. She was never so glad to be herself again. Or at least her normal sized self.
Moon threw his arms around her. “I’m so sorry.”
Star hugged him back, just grateful he was her brother once again. Something sharp entered her shoulder, loosening her grip on Moon. Pain shot through her whole body. She crumpled to the ground, her mind fogging up.
“Star!” Moon dropped down next to her. Tbc...
