Thanks. Here's the next one.
Chapter 6
Mikey ducked a punch from the cloaked guy and hit him with his chuck. It wrapped around the sword. Mikey pulled, making the sword fly into the opposite wall. “Ha!”
The guy quickly kicked him into a dumpster. He lay on the ground, dazed and watched his brother jump forward.
Raph tackled him and rolled across the ground. He gave the guy a good punch in the stomach and head. “You’ve ticked me off now pal!”
“Not as much as you sicken me.” He kicked Raph off him and thrust his foot into Raph’s stomach.
Raph bent and staggered backwards.
Mikey rubbed his head and got to his feet. He guessed it wasn’t such a good idea to taunt the bad guy.
The cloaked guy started towards Rai, plucking his sword out of the wall it was sticking out of.
Leo stood in his path. “Going somewhere?”
“Out of my way.” Mr. Cloak ran forward, thrusting his sword towards Leo’s head.
Mikey watched wide eyed as Leo ducked and their swords clanged. This guy was going too far. Mikey ran forward, ducking a flying Leo. He jumped up and thrust out his leg.
Mr. Cloak ducked and caught Mikey by the wrist and twisted his arm around him as soon as he landed.
Mikey squirmed as pain shot through his arm. He struggled and tried to get free, but Mr. Cloak would not have it and tightened his grip.
“Let him go!” Raph yelled.
Mikey gasped as a sword appeared at his neck.
“I don’t think so. You will let me get the tiger and leave or you’ll be one turtle short.”
“Eeep…” Mikey murmured.
---
Rai felt someone poking at him. He cracked his eyes open and looked at a purple banded turtle. “Donatello?” he asked weakly.
“Yes. Just rest. You’re pretty banged up.” Don suddenly looked up and gasped.
Rai followed his gaze. Ander had Mikey and was threatening to kill him. He reached into one of the pockets in his coat and pulled out a disk, hurling it at Ander with as much strength as he could muster. It landed on Ander’s shoulder.
Ander gasped, dropped his sword, and thudded to the ground.
Don turned to him and started to say something, but Rai didn’t hear it. The world had faded again.
---
Leo walked into the lab. It had been three hours, but Rai was still out. Splinter was right about meeting again. He just wished it hadn’t been like this again. “How is he?”
Don looked up from his desk. “Well there’s a couple of broken ribs, lots of bruises, a few cuts, and a sprained ankle. I’m surprised he was able to fight.”
“I’m glad he was,” Mikey said.
“Yeah,” Raph grunted, but nodded. “That was a little too close.”
“When will he wake up?”
“There was some sort of drug in his system,” Don said. “But he should wake up anytime now.”
“Will it wear off?” Leo asked.
“Yeah. Might take a few hours, but it will. It doesn’t look like it will harm him either.”
Leo was relieved. That was good news. But he was still worried. What had that cloaked guy wanted with Rai? And would Rai even tell them?
---
Rai groaned. His chest ached, but not as bad as before. He opened his eyes and groggily looked around. Don was at his desk with Mikey was hovering over him. He looked the other direction. Raph and Leo were talking in whispers at the other end of the room. He felt a little loopy. Like things in the room were spinning. But he knew they weren’t.
Leo came over with Raph beside him. “Hey, nice to see you awake.”
“I’d rather be asleep again,” Rai moaned, his eyes shutting.
“You sure got banged up,” Raph said.
“How do you feel?” Don asked.
He didn’t even know Don had come over. That meant Mikey was here too. But how did he feel? “Sick.” He sat up slowly, then winced, covering his mouth against a yelp of pain and fell back down on the pillows. He grunted.
“You have to take it easy for a few days,” Don said. “You broke a couple ribs.”
“Anything else broken?” Rai asked with a groan.
“No. Not that I can tell.”
“Good. I don’t want to put you guys in danger if I can help it.”
“Nonsense,” Mikey said. “That’s what friends are for. But family might stick closer.”
“Then I must have a warped view of family.” Rai let his eyes close again. He didn’t want to talk anymore. Didn’t want to answer any questions. And didn’t want to hurt them with the truth.
“What do you mean?” Leo asked.
“That guy you guys fought…” Rai hesitated, but finally just said it. “He was my brother.”
